Recess Records artist Toys That Kill are playing a show at Venster99 in Vienna!
By the turn of the century, the Band from San Pedro, California emerged out of F.Y.P – Todd Congelliere‘s first (solo) project. With Sentimental Ward Toys That Kill have released their 5th Album, which came out in june 2016.
The show takes place April 8th, 2017. La Sabotage from Linz, who have recently released their 7″ on Fettkakao, are opening up the evening.
Ana Threat is doing the Saturday Night Punk DJ thing after the shows!
we are very lucky do be able to host a series of shows, that happen once a month at the Schönbrunner Straße 6 in Vienna.
The small space, in Vienna’s center, offers exciting happenings: with the Vinylograph events where acts record live onto vinyl, to the Soundapotheke, Baustellebeschallung, early DJ nights and Fleamarkets, this place is just perfect for our early weekend shows.
YES. early. The perfomances start at around 7 and are over by 10PM.
entry? we will ask for donations.
Infinite Pal is premiering the happening. The follow up / side project to Crazy Bitch In A Cave was introduced during last years Electronic Spring & Popfest in Vienna; Nil Desperandum picked up on the act early, as well the Janka Studio Session, who filmed the Infinite Pal song ‘Apart’ (watch it here).
Marlo, who has released her debut Tape “Implosion” via Epileptic Media in November 2016, will do the Performance show in April, the 21st to be more precise.
Using her laptop, guitar, violin and voice, Marlo crafts music in her bedroom, while her earlier tracks were mostly created on train rides.
Not only when making songs, but also in everyday life, she gets excited about occurring sounds easily, which – beside some curiousity for computers – results in a kind of experimental approach to this very personal project.
You can have a listen to it at: epilepticmedia.bandcamp.com/album/implosion

(beside Marlo, Marlene is also part of the Linz Trio La Sabotage!)
One out of two Kristy and the Kraks, Ana Threat is challenging the places of her performances as a solo artist: with two or no drums, sometimes long, repetetive patterns and almost always out on the floor – i can’t help but be exctited at her shows.
Ana Threat’s current record was released via Cut Surface in 2016. listen to Cold Lve via Bandcamp here.

The annual Girls Rock Camp had a party last Summer at the Rhiz in Vienna. As always, these shows are fun: short sets, new approaches to performances & many people i admire are attending too.
I’ve heard of La Sabotage: Bad Weed’s Phil was cheering during rehearsals of this new band they had just played with- and Dora of Schapka (Шапка) & Dives, who came to a show we did at the Performance Class party, told me of her friends doing these punk acts at Art Galleries, like we did that evening.
I made sure I’m not missing their show – but it seemed not neccesary to ask back if it was really them because the band i saw was just so good: you could tell they are exploring different motions, rhythms and soundlayers. Beats inspired by luggage rolling on the plastered pavement, low electronics set in to boost the sound; and with their singers performance La Sabotage turned the room into a dance party.
This band doesnt brag about their friendships, arent annoyingly friendly either. The trio is very Bold, knows what it wants, not short of any yes or no – and make things happen. Yet they are friends and i find them very friendly, uplifting and enjoyable peers.
La Sabotage re-recorded Rabengasse, and put Mad on the flip. you can listen to their e.p. on Bandcamp now too:
If you are interested, you are able to witness their live shows here:
